This nature-inspired playground in Edmonton’s scenic Blackburne park was purposefully designed to blend in with the beautiful natural surroundings while providing a highly diverse, inclusive play experience for a wide range of ages and abilities. The play area is separated out with two pods, one for the younger tots and one for the older kids. The tot area features a cozy cabin for imaginative role, a sensory area with sand play, several slides and the ImpMobile for group and social play. The senior pod features wheelchair ramp access to the multi-user, bouncing Off-Roader. This higher structure also delivers tall slides, challenging climbers, and multiple functionally linked overheads for the energetic crowd. Both pods are complete with a set of swings. Pathways and poured-in-place rubber surfacing provide barrier-free access throughout the site.
